Curcuma aromatica

Turmeric is the root of the curcuma aromatica, rhizomatous perennial plant of ginger family, Zingiberaceae.
There is about 0.5~6.5% of yellow-colored polyphenol pigment in the root of curcuma aromatica, which is mainly composed of curcumin.
Curcumin is the main natural pigment found in curry and mustard which have been used as spice or treatment in inflammation and skin disease from the ancient times.
Research has found curmin, the ingredient of curry, to have great anti-aging effects.
Curmin also contains curcumin,the natural pigment that gives curry its unique yellow color, and piperine that adds spiciness to the pepper.

Pharmaceutical effects of curmin

Curcumin strengthens the liver function, detoxifies of liver, stimulate the secretion of bile, kills the cause of gastric ulcer (pylori bacteria), inhibits the growth of fungi, has diuretic effects, in addition to anti-bactericidal effects against S. aureus. Curcumin decreases the synthesis in the new blood vessels to inhibiting accumulation of fat and is effective in controlling your weight.

Curcumin's anti-oxidative and anti-inflammatory effects

Curcumin effectively eliminates reactive oxygen species and reactive nitrogen species to prevent peroxidation of lipids and DNA damage and stimulates the production of glutathione, an anti-oxidant involved in reduction of stress.
